One of the UK’s most distinctive jazz vocalists, Fleur Stevenson is known for her honeyed tone, effortless phrasing and warm, engaging stage presence. With a deep love of the American Songbook, she brings classic standards and romantic ballads vividly to life, combining elegance, swing and subtle storytelling.
For this special afternoon concert, Fleur is joined by Wallingford’s own Maff Potts on piano and Goring Jazz curator, excellent double bassist Howard King. Together they will present a beautifully crafted programme of swinging standards, tender ballads and timeless songs from the golden age of jazz, including favourites such as “The Nearness of You,” “Fly Me to The Moon,” “My Funny Valentine,” and “They Can’t Take That Away from Me.”Expect an uplifting and intimate afternoon of first-class straight-ahead vocal jazz in this beautiful venue, performed on its prize grand piano, with tea and coffee served beforehand.
