...."Fleur Stevenson is a wonderful singer with a great musical ear and natural jazz feel. I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing her promising career unfold."...

Claire Martin OBE
Jazz vocalist and BBC radio 3 presenter

Fleur is one of the new breed of jazz singers who, having initially trained classically in voice and trumpet, later found her true passion for jazz. Fleur is privileged to be a student of The First Lady of British Jazz, Claire Martin. She has also received training from world renowned jazz vocalist Anita Wardell, and X Factor - judges expert coach and singer Verona Chard.

Fleur performs throughout the UK with her band and has worked with many wonderful musicians as a solo vocalist, performing at jazz venues, such as Ronnie Scotts Bar, and providing music for many different types of events including functions, private parties, weddings and festivals. The line up of Fleur's band varies, from a jazz duo to a quintet depending on the event. Fleur and her band provide a modern take on many of the Jazz Standards and American Song Book numbers, as well as original songs composed by Fleur and friends. Her influences spanning jazz, soul and blues genres, include Carman McRae, Shirley Horn, Ella Fitzgerald and Chris Connor.

On the third Tuesday of each month, Fleur hosts her monthly Jazz Singers' Night at the Global Cafe, Reading. Fleur performs a sort set at 9pm, before inviting singers onto stage from 9.30pm to sing with the band. This gig is free and open to all singers, and listeners!
